From your hotel or riad in the morning.
The Ourika valley is the closest of the High Atlas valleys to Marrakech, about an hour’s drive south. On the way in you stop at an argan cooperative where women crack and press the nuts by hand, and at a Berber house built of earth, where the family serves tea and shows you how they live.
At the end of the road, the village of Setti Fatma is the start of the walk to the waterfalls: about an hour and a half up and back on a rocky path with a local mountain guide, past the first of seven cascades. Lunch by the river is optional. For a longer walk in the mountains, see the Imlil & High Atlas Day Trip.
