Marrakech activities for every pace: quad biking and buggies on desert tracks, camel and horse rides in the palm groves, a balloon or a paraglider over the Agafay hills, and an evening in a desert camp. Pickup from your hotel or riad is included on most of them.
The palm grove on the north edge of the city is the closest place for a camel ride, a horse ride or a short quad circuit, and fits into a morning or a late afternoon.
Agafay, 45 minutes south-west of Marrakech, is all rock, dry riverbeds and rounded hills, with the Atlas on the horizon. It is the place for longer quad and buggy routes, sunset camel rides and dinner in a camp.
A hot air balloon at sunrise over the plains, or a tandem paragliding flight from the Agafay hills. Both depend on the weather, and a flight that cannot go ahead is moved or cancelled free of charge.
A calèche ride along the ramparts and gardens, for an easy hour without walking.
