From your hotel or riad.
A camel ride in Marrakech takes you out of the city in two directions: north to the Palmeraie, a palm grove on the edge of town, or south-west to the stony hills of the Agafay desert. Either way the car brings you to the camp, where you are given a headscarf and set off at a walk on a camel led by a cameleer.
The ride lasts about an hour, followed by mint tea before the drive back. The Palmeraie is closer and fits into a morning or late afternoon; Agafay is further out and has wider views of the Atlas, especially at sunset. To combine it with a meal under the stars, see the Agafay Desert Dinner; for something faster, the Quad Biking.
