From your hotel or riad.
Paragliding in Marrakech takes place over the Agafay hills, an hour’s drive out of town, where the take-off points look over the stony desert, the Lalla Takerkoust lake and the High Atlas. You fly in tandem, strapped to a certified pilot who handles take-off, the flight and the landing. No experience is needed; you only need to be able to run a few steps at take-off.
The flight lasts 10 to 20 minutes depending on the wind, and the pilot films it for you to keep. Flights only go ahead in safe weather; if the wind is wrong, the flight is moved to another day. For another view from above, see the Hot Air Balloon.
