Overview

Once a week, each village around Marrakech holds a souk where farmers and traders from the area buy and sell produce, spices, livestock and household goods. This Berber market tour takes you to the market held on the day of your visit, with transport from Marrakech and a local guide who explains what is traded and how the market works.

Markets run on fixed days, for example Tahanaout on Tuesday and Asni on Saturday, and are busiest in the morning. Few visitors come, so what you see is daily life rather than a show. For more of the mountains, see the Three Valleys & Atlas Mountains Day Trip.
